Taylor Swift Eras Concert: Toronto Night 1

November 13 – 15, 2024

Dreams can come true!  That’s totally how it feels to have 2 tickets to see Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour in Toronto!!!  It almost felt like it wouldn’t happen, so I didn’t want to let myself feel the excitement until I landed in Toronto.

Stephen and I flew in from Charlottetown on the night of the 13th and Macy and her friend were flying in from Halifax together earlier in the afternoon.  We had an Airbnb booked for over a year for this concert (at a CRAZY high price!) and the week before the concert they cancelled the booking!  I almost died of heart failure!  But I found an even better one (and for way cheaper!) near the Eaton Center.  Still a walkable distance to the Rogers Center, so it all worked out for the best.

November 14th, 2024 CONCERT DAY!!!!!

Macy had an online presentation for school first thing this morning that she was doing from Stephen’s head office on the waterfront.  So I decided to walk down with them in the morning and wait for her in the lobby until she finished her presentation.  When she was finished we walked along the waterfront to the Westin Harbour Castle and stopped in for a bathroom break.  We saw that they were offering a DIY friendship bracelets station for Marriott Bonvoy members and since I’m a member we decided to stay and make friendship bracelets. Such a cute idea!

Then we walked down to the Rogers Center and took some photos of the giant friendship bracelet there.  There was such a FUN vibe in the air!  The Taylor Swift music was blasting and everyone was dressed up and so happy!

From there we walked over to The Well and got in line to try Crumbl cookies for the first time!  We decided to split a chocolate chip cookie and a pumpkin spice cookie.  Pumpkin spice was good, but definitely more on the cakey side of a cookie.  However the chocolate chip cookie was insanely good!  Definitely a huge fan of the chocolate chip!

We then headed to Queen Street and decided to pick up a black pair of Uggs for Macy to wear to the concert tonight.  We just realized that the area our tickets are for is in the Schneider Porch and there’s no seats, it’s standing room only.  The boots Macy had brought for tonight were high heeled. Cute but not comfy for standing in all night.  After our new boot purchase we headed to the Eaton Center food court and ordered the “Pookie Salad” order at Chic-Fil-A (IYKYK)

Now the fun BEGINS!!! Time to get readyyyyy!  Getting ready is always my favourite part of going out.  We had the Taylor tunes going, getting our makeup and hair done.  Putting the final touches on to our outfits.  Stacking on all the friendship bracelets.  And then getting some pics before we head out.  Fun little fact about me: I rarely pass on having a glass of wine or a cocktail, but I do NOT like to drink at concerts.  Not before and not during.  Don’t know why.  Maybe I’m scared I’ll have to pee and can’t get to a bathroom.  Whatever the reason, it’s a hard NO for me.  So needless to say there was no pre concert drinkies.

Macy and I walked down to the Rogers Center just after 3pm.  The Swifties were EVERYWHERE!  I’ve never seen so many glittery and sequined outfits!!! I LOVED it!!!!  It took us a while to find our gate.  We literally ended up walking the entire perimeter of the Rogers Center! Should have turned right instead of left lol  So we were pretty much at the back of the line by the time we got to our gate.  The gates opened at 4:30 and the crowd broke out into cheers!  It was pretty slick getting everyone through.

As soon as we got through our gate we started to cheer!  It was such a build up to this moment and it just hit us all at once as we went through the gate!  But we pulled ourselves together, put on our LED wrist band and beelined it to the merch line.  I think it took about 1 hour in the merch line, the navy crew neck was already sold out, but that was ok because Macy got the black hoodie and I got the beige hoodie.  Happy shoppers!

With our merch in hand we headed to Schnieder’s Porch.  The front railing of the porch was already claimed by people, so we scouted out the shortest people and tried to stand behind them.  We were standing near a mom and her 3 daughters, when I felt a tap on my arm.  It was the mom, and she said if it’s just the 2 of you we can squeeze together and make room for you along the rail.  HOW NICE WAS THAT!?   So I got Macy in along the railing and I tucked in tight behind her so we had a perfect view of the stage!

Gracie Abrams started her set around 6:45.  I enjoyed her songs before, but seeing her perform live took it to another level.  I’m now a Gracie super fan!  She was amazing!

And then the show of our lives started!!!!  I can NOT EVEN!!!!  We screamed, we cried, we sang, we danced.  We had the time of our lives.  Words can’t express it.  It was simply incredible and I’m so happy that I was able to share the experience with Macy!  I wish Makena could have been there too!  I promise the next big concert is with Makena!

Post Concert:

I woke up and would randomly get choked up every time I’d try to talk about the concert to anyone.  Did anyone else experience this I wonder?

Between my random waves of emotions from the night before, we got our bags packed up and Stephen, Macy and I ubered to his head office.  We stored our bags there and Macy and I went for a walk while Stephen went to work.

We ended up in the area of our favorite Landwer Cafe so we put our name on the waitlist for brunch.  We wanted hot drinks this morning so I ordered a Halva latte and Macy got a nutella latte.  Both were delicious.

In our post eras tour era

We split an order of the Smoked BBQ Burger and fries and an order of Sinia Kebab.

We could have stopped there because we were pretty much full after that, but our server sold us on an order of Rozalach, half in Nutella and half in Lotus.  OMG sooooo good!!!

After brunch we returned to the office to get our bags and it was time for Macy to head to the airport for her flight home.
